April Walker
April is a veterinary assistant here at the Berkeley Veterinary Center. She helps out in just about everything from monitoring surgical patients, scheduling appointments to loving on all the family pets that visit us. April is a huge animal lover. She grew up with two parrots and five cats. Animals have always been a part of her life from owning, pet sitting to sponsoring and adopting. When April is not at Berkeley Veterinary Center you can find her working at Petco of Howell, assisting customers and their pets.
April is happily married and currently is the proud parent of one kitten, eleven lizards and one snake. She has a strong interest in reptiles and enjoys educating others about them.
April graduated from Central Regional High School in 2002. She then went on to earn her associates degree in Print Broadcast Journalism. She is now following her passion for helping animals here at Berkeley Veterinary Center.
Brittany Heimburger
Brittany is currently a student at Ocean County College. She graduated from Central Regional High School in 2007.
Brittany has always had an enthusiastic passion for art and photography and would like to be a professional artist one day. Working at Berkeley Veterinary Center, Brittany has grown a new passion of helping animals. She enjoys doing this with the help of her older sister, April.
When Brittany is not working at Berkeley Veterinary Center or attending Ocean County College, she enjoys her other "job", painting murals with her life long friend.
At home, Brittany has 4 cats: Chipp, Hershey, Lil Ben and Kitt-Kat.
Katie Gaitens
Katie is currently a veterinary assistant here at Berkeley Veterinary Center. She started in this field over a year ago, and has always worked along side Drs. Tony and Pat. Her love and compassion for animals finally brought her into the veterinary field after years in the retail and restaurant buisness.
At home, Katie has her share of animals consisting of her black cat, "Kloie", three rabbits, three birds, a turtle named Dali. Always in her heart and thoughts is her recently deceased dog "Bailey".
Outside of the hospital she enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking day trips and spending as much time at the beach as she can.
Katie looks forward to expanding her education and knowledge in the field. She would like to become a registered veterinary nurse.
Diana Lynn Brand, RVT, MT A.S.C.P.
Diana grew up in Brick, New Jersey. After graduating from high school in 1987 she became a licensed hairdresser. She started working as a veterinary technician in 1989. In 1990 she joined the staff of a veterinary hospital where Drs. Tony and Pat were employed and has worked along side them since.
Diana also works at Jersey Shore University Medical Center as a medical technologist and is responsible for analyzing blood and other laboratory samples. She has earned an Associates of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology, a Certificate in Histotechnology, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Clinical Laboratory Science.
Diana's real pasion is to work with animals though and to that end she studied for and passed the national veterinary technology exam in 2004 and is now a registered veterinary technician!! Diana is also a Certified Animal Cruelity Investigator and a Certified Animal Control Officer.
Diana shares her home w/ several dogs, cats, rats and even a snake. In her spare time Diana enjoys reading, travel and photography.
Cambra Horacek
Cambra is currently working toward a degree in Veterinary Technology at Cedar Valley College, an American Veterinary Medical Association accredited distance learning school.
Cambra donates some of her free time fostering stray kittens for the Volunteer Auxiliary. She has an especially strong love for horses and enjoys volunteering at the Standardbred Retirement Foundation (SRF). The SRF retrains retired racehorse so they may be adopted by loving families.
Cambra has 3 cats at home, Andie, Jack and Wallie.
