Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an semi-annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs. 

Preventative Health Care:  Preventative health care is essential to ensure that our dog or cat has a full and healthy life.  Our Wellness Care services include:

Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite along with the most up to date anesthesia and surgical equipment allows us to perform many surgical procedures while ensuring your pet's safety and comfort.  Our Surgical services include:

• Tumor removal
• Abdominal Surgery

Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures. All patients have intravenous catheters and fluids during surgical procedures.
 
Radiology Services:  Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.
   
Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.

Ultrasound and Endoscopy:  Our hospital utilizes a veterinary board certified internist who performs Ultrasounds and Endoscopic procedures.

Dentistry:  Oral health increases your pet's well-being, adds to its longevity and makes it more pleasant to be around.  Our dental services include:

• Oral/dental examinations
• Dental cleaning and polishing
• Dental x-rays
• Extractions
• Periodontal therapy 
  

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for ear and skin cytology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.  Most results are reported within 24 hours.

Permanent identification: We offer microchip identification. 
    
Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.  In addition, we have an online pharmacy through VetSource for your convenience.

Dermatology services: We offer full service dermatology services including allergy testing and immunotherapy.  We also offer Atopica as an alternative to cortisone for treatment of allergies.  Although more expensive Atopica has fewer long term side effects.
 
Individualized Flea Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
    

Behavioral Counseling:  Behavior problems can not only cause stress for you and your companion, but also, if unchecked, can lead to major medical problems and a shorter lifer for your pet.  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.  We also can refer you to Bark Busters for at home behavior training.

Emergency Care:  We provide emergency care during regular business hours.  After business hours we refer our emergencies to both Jersey Shore Veterinary Services at 732-363-3200 and Garden State Veterinary Specialists at 732-922-0011.
