Wes Darcy, DVM
Veterinarian
Growing up with foster dogs, Dr. Wes always had dreams of becoming a veterinarian. His desire to help animals led him to attend The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences at Rutgers University in New Brunswick to earn a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science - PreVeterinary Medicine. After undergrad, Dr. Wes attended The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine to earn his Veterinary Medical Doctorate (VMD). After vet school Dr. Wes moved to Pennsylvania for his first job at a mixed animal practice, practicing predominantly dairy cow and small animal medicine. In 2022 he moved back to Ocean County where he grew up to join the Berkeley Veterinary Center team. Dr. Wes was a client himself at BVC with his first dog, a German Shepherd named Chase, and interned here while an undergraduate student, so he was excited to return as Associate Veterinarian! Dr. Wes has a special place in his heart for German Shepherd patients and has an interest in surgical cases. As a Fear Free certified veterinarian, it’s important to him that every patient feels comfortable during their visit and every pet parent feels informed and involved in their pet’s health. Outside of work, Dr. Wes is always on the beach with his wife and their yellow lab mix, Ruth. He spends his free time surf fishing and freediving, and always has a fish story to tell.
